I created this video to show all the great Close to my Heart products that come in the Skylark Workshop on the Go Scrapbooking Kit. Close to my Heart has great kits they put together called Workshop on the Go. They put products together and include instructions of how to put it together. Have you ever wanted to scrapbook but didn't know where to begin? Well I have. That is why I love this product because Close to my Heart has already done the work for us.
Along with changes to my blog, I decided I wanted to make money doing what I love to do. I love inspiring others to create. So I am now selling Close to my Heart's amazing products.
I personally owned some of their Acrylic stamps, and loveed the quality. I also think that some of the best Cricut Cartridges are the ones that Close to my Heart sells. So far I own the Cricut Art Philosophy Collection & the Cricut Artiste Collection. There are so many cuts that you will really use everyday on these Cricut Cartridges. They really have cuts for everything. The reason I called them Collections is because you don't just purchase a Cricut Cartridge but a whole collection of supplies. Each Cricut Collection sold by Close to my Heart includes:
1 - Cricut Cartridge
3 - My Acrylix D-size Stamp Sets
3 - Chipboards with coordinating shapes that go along with the stamps
The stamps go with the Cricut Cartridge. They even marked what size the image needs cut out for the stamp to go on it. As you can tell I love the Cricut Cartridges sold by Close to my Heart. But there was a no brainer reason why I decided to sell it. Let me tell you why...
There is a Special that if you join Close to my Heart as an independent consultant in the month of April you get to choose one of these amazing Cricut Collections for FREE. Yes I said a FREE Cricut Cartridge, 3 stamp sets that coordinate, and Chipboard that coordinates.
I also thought that the Consultant kit was very affordable for all the great product you get to share with others, as you make more money, on your own schedule.
This is defiantly alot of great product to start your business off with for only $99 (approximately a $309 retail value). Especially since your get a Cricut Collection for Free ($99 value).
A great aspect of Close to my Heart is that you can have monthly workshops where people craft and order product. People can also host a Gathering and create a small project to take home as they get to touch & see the products for themselves. Its so much fun to get together with other ladies and teach them how to create a project that can cherish their memories.
Also if what you see sounds really good & you would like to join my Close to my Heart team, let me know. I would love to talk with you more about making the decision to make money while inspiring others to do something you enjoy doing.

After taking a long much needed break from blogging, I decided to come back and make some changes. I wanted to make my blog better so I started researching how to make it better. I found an amazing blog along the way that helped me improve Simple Creations Paper Crafts. If you want to improve your blog check out: The Sits Girls
They taught me how to clean up my page. How to write blogs. How to create a watermark for my pictures. How to create and add a blog button.
They introduced me to an amazing FREE photo editing program online. Check out PicMonkey.com I created a new letterhead, blog button, Facebook header, and watermark all in this FREE program. It can edit pictures from your computer and then save them to your computer. No downloading software necessary. However, it does need Flash to run. Therefore, I can't edit photos on my iPad.
Here are several things I created using PicMonkey. Designing these were almost as fun as scrapbooking.
Once I created and saved these new designs I started updating my Blog & Facebook Page. That way I have the same logo on everything.
My Blog is a work in progress. I will always be working on it and changing things to improve it.
I wanted to get a note pad that I could keep projects or post information for my blog in. I found this really nice Project Layout note pad at Staples. It didn't have a cover and kept getting messed up in my bag so today I decided to make a cover for it as an easy solution to the pages getting all messed up.
The finished Project with the cover
Very nice notebook
Cut out a cover and then a paper to cover the binding to reinforce it.
Score where the paper will fold over the binding & where the cover will fold up so that everything lays down crisply.
The paper that covered the binding went over on the back a little
Paper: The Green Stack by DCWV - need a thick paper to hold up over time Note Pad: Letter Sized - White - Project Ruled (Purchased at Staples) Adhesive: Score Tape - use a heavy duty adhesive to make sure it holds
If you enjoy this project see how to follow my blog, on the right side, to see more Simple Creations. On this card I did alot of Stamping & Heat Embossing with Clear Embossing Powder to create a High Gloss shine.
To create the base layer I stamped with Versa Mark ink and then heat embossed with clear embossing powder. But on the light Harvest Gold paper it didn't show up like I was hoping. So I rubbed a Pure Poppy ink pad over it. Then I wiped off the ink on the embossing with a baby wipe. I love the result. Now it really pops off the page.
